What We Collect
When you use Motorsport Data (roostaberger.ai and the Roo Data app), we collect:
- Personal information: Name, email address, social media handles (if provided)
- Vehicle information: Make, model, year, capacity, modifications, and a vehicle photo if you add one
- Telemetry data: files from your data logger (AiM XRZ and CSV, MyChron, Speed Angle, RaceBox, Alfano, TrackAddict, RaceChrono, GPX) containing lap times, speeds, GPS traces, throttle, braking and sensor data, and any racer or vehicle name recorded in the file
- Images: Vehicle photos, profile photo, team logos (if provided)
Junior racers. Accounts are held by adults. A parent or guardian may upload data from a junior racer's data logger to their own account. That data is vehicle telemetry as described above and may include the junior racer's name where it was recorded in the logger file or entered as the racer name. We do not market to, communicate with, or collect data directly from anyone under 18; the parent is the account holder.
How We Use Your Data

Coaches are independent of us: we do not employ, vet, endorse or review them, and any advice they give is theirs. You can revoke a share at any time, after which the coach loses access. |
What We Don't Do
We never sell your data to third parties. We never share identifiable data with clubs, series organisers, sponsors, or any other third party without your explicit consent. GPS data is used only for zone analysis, not for tracking your location outside of circuit analysis.
Community Profiles
Appearing in the Community section of our website is opt-in only. We will only display your name, bike details, team logo, photo, and social links if you turn on 'Show on Community Page' for a vehicle.
You can request removal from the Community section at any time.
Anonymous Benchmarking
We plan to offer anonymous comparison against other racers in the same period and class. This feature is opt-in only. If you choose to participate:
- Your data will be anonymised (no name, team, or identifying details)
- Only performance metrics (lap times, zone times, speeds) will be included
- You can opt out at any time
Data Retention
- We retain your data indefinitely to enable personal best tracking and progression analysis
- You can permanently delete your account yourself at any time (see Deleting Your Account below), or request deletion by contacting us
- When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal information (name, contact details, photo); your telemetry data is retained in anonymised, de-identified form — see Deleting Your Account
Deleting Your Account
You can permanently delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → Delete account) or from your account settings on the website. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your account and personal details — including your name, contact information, and profile photo — and you will no longer be able to sign in.
Your session and telemetry data is retained in anonymised form: it remains in our records to support the service, but it is de-identified and no longer linked to you. Any data you previously shared with a coach remains available to that coach in the same anonymised form. Account deletion cannot be undone.
Data Storage & Security
- Supabase — database, file storage and authentication (your account, vehicle and telemetry data)
- Vercel — hosts the website and processes uploads and payments requests (transient request data)
- Stripe — payment processing (card details are held by Stripe, never by us)
- Resend — transactional email (your email address and the message sent)
- Access is limited to the operator of Motorsport Data; there are no staff or contractors with access
- Files are transmitted securely via encrypted connections (HTTPS)
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data – request a copy of what we hold
- Correct inaccuracies – let us know if something's wrong
- Delete your account – permanently remove your personal details (telemetry is retained anonymised)
- Withdraw consent – opt out of community profile or benchmarking at any time
